The Bank of England returns show the stock of geld, coin and bullion to be £35,375,000; reserve £26,430,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 49.90 per cent. The notes in circulation total £28.890,000; public deposits £14,189,000; other deposits £38.763,000; Government securities £12,879,000; other securities £31,402.000.
MONEY MARKET. The bank rate of discount is -!-j- per cent. •Short loans are dK-ouiited at 3 per emit, and three months bills as Idlows: London 3] per cent. ; Paris 3s per cent. : Berlin 5 per cent.
CONSULS AND COLONIAL STOCKS Consols, which last week were at £7! 12s 0:1. are quoted at £75 2s fjd. Following are the quotations for Colonial Government stocks, compared with those ruling a week previously:

WHEAT FLOUR, ETC,
The wheat, market is quiet, sellers holding for late rates. Australian spot for retail demand is quoted at 40s to 40s 6d. New Zealand prices are nominally 39s to 39s 6(1. Flour is quiet and steady at 26s 6d. 26s 9d e.i.f. is paid for Australian patents April-Mav shipment. Spot stocks aro Oates are firm. Finest A. Garton 25s to 25s 6d. Beans are firm. 41s is asked for new crop f.a.q. Peas are steady.
BUTTER AND CHEESE. The butter market is flat. Danish is quoted at 113 s to 114 s; choicest Australian salted, 104 sto 106 s; unsalted 106 s to 108 s; secondaries 96s to 100 s ; choicest New Zealand, 112 s to 114 - Tho cheese market is quiet and unchanged.
AMERICAN WINTER WHEAT CROP.
(Received Mav 9, 11.50 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 9. The Agricultural Bureau estimates the winter wheat crop at 513,571.000 bushels.
