MAN'S INHUMANITY TO MAN.
ANOTHER HOSPITAL DISTRICT CASE. INDIGNATION AT CHRISTCHURCH.
[PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 8. A fireman on the Maori named Barry, who left tho ship on Tuesday suffering from tuberculosis and who failed to receive admission to the Christchurch Hospital, where’ho was sent, and wandered about tho wharves at Lyttelton all night until taken in hand by the Sailor’s Home authorities was sent to Wellington by tho Maori to-night in a special cabin, which will he fumigated after tho ship arrives. Barry belonged to Wellington, and the hospital authorities hero refused to take him in for that reason. They allege that he was quite.fit to travel and that he left the hospital on Tuesday with tho intention oft returning to* Wellington. Considerable indignation has been aroused locally as to the treatment the man received.
