Mr W. D. S. MacDonald, before presenting the prizes, said he was delighted to see so many of the parents and others present on the occasion. It was most satisfactory, and must prove stimulating to the teachers, Aliss Morgan and Aliss Price, to know that such a dee]) interest was being taken in the welfare of tlie school. Three years ago the Puha School started in a very small way. and no doubt, chiefly owing to having secured the services of so able and painstaking a teacher in the person of Aliss Morgan, great progress had been made all along. Mr MacDonald urged the children to be regular and punctual in their attendance, hoping that each girl and bov would enjoy their holiday to the full. He called upon them to give three cheers for their teachers, which was heartily responded to.

The breaking-up ceremony in connection with Aliss Aylmer’s preparatory school, Vhataupoko, was held yesterday afternoon.
