ROWING.
GISBOftEE CLUB. The double scull races for the Cox Cup were continued on the Waimata course last evening, when Gerrard and Fraser heat Dobson and Dudson by a length, and Moore and Sweet beat Smith and Eyson by a length and a half. Winter and Gardiner won from Somervell and Evans by default. In the B grade fours for B. S. Cox’s photos Pycroft (str). Porter (3), Davis (2) and Church (bow) beat McColl (str), H. Davis (3), Peters (2) and Nisbett (bow) by three-quarters of a length after a good race. Pycroft got the better start and maintained his lead all the way, although McColl made several determined efforts to catch him. Port (str), Sprague (3), Coates (2) and Milne (bow) defeated O’Brien (str), Duncan (3), Mossop (2) and de Cent (bow) by a quarter, of a length. This was a good race, both crews being fairly level until near the finish, where Port put in a good spurt with the above result. The double scull races will be continued to-night, when three more heats will be rowed, and the semi-finals of the B grade fours will be rowed, when Jeffreys meets Port and Pufiett meets Pycroft.
