THE HANDICAP TOURNAMENT. The third round of the Handicap Tournament and a bogey competition filled the hill on the local links on Saturday afternoon. The foil owing are the results jn the A. grade of the Handicap Tournament : B, U. Burke (10) beat F .H. TV. Traill (scr) 1 u]> at the 20tli. G. M. Dodgshun (scr.) heat TV. Gilo—son (6), 4 up and 3. P. Iveilia (scr) beat G. Grant (12), G up and 5P. H. Hamilton (12) heat B. C. Jeffreys (12) 5 up and 4. The game between Traill and Burke provided a. most exciting contest. Burke ledi for the greater part of the journey, and was 2 np at the 14th. Traill then evened up matters, and the 18th hole saw the game all square. The 19th was halved, and it was not until the 20tli was reached that Burke won a hard-fought game by a putt. Dodgshun was in fine form on Saturday, and proved too good for Gibson. He ran out in 40, and was 4up at the turn. He took the, loth in 4 to £>, and was thus 5 up. Gibson then took a hand, winning the next three holes in succession, and reducing Dodgshun’sc lead to 2 up. Dodgshun took the next two holes, the 14th and loth, in 5 and 4 to 0 and 5, and thus won by 4 up and 3. Some idea of the form Dodgshun was in can be gathered from the fact that lio finished urn) only 1 down to bogey, and won the bogey competition. P. Iveihd is playing in fine form at rnr-esent, and proved top good for G. Grant. P. H- Hamilton accounted for B. C. Jeffreys by a wide margin.
