POISONED BY A BEETLE.
TERRIBLE DEATH OF A WOMAN. SWALLOWED IT IN DRINKING FROM MILK-JUG. Swallowing a beetle in drinking from a milk jug brought about the death, after acute internal pains, of a woman on whom an inquest was held at Camberwell. The woman was Mrs Alice M. AKnight, forty-six years of age, the wife of a railway porter of 1 crest Hill Road, and evidence, showed that no other factor was likely to have caused death. She consumed some milk which was poisoned, having gone on May 1 to a jug and drank out of it. Death occurred on Sunday in Camberwell Infirmary from exhaustion. The jury returned a verdict of “Accidental death.”
