123 YEARS OLD.

ANCIENT CONVICT SHIP’S ATTEMPT TO CROSS THE ATLANTIC

Great crowds assembled on tlie quay at Queenstown to wish, success to the old Australian convict ship Success in her attempt to cross the Atlantic under her own sail. She was disabled at -sea about three weeks ago, and was located by means of her wireless telegraph apparatus. She is reported to foe the only sailing ship equipped with this means of communication.

Great crowds assembled to give a parting cheer to the venturous oxS ship. During her stay in the repair yards she was visited and inspected by many nautical people, including the Admiral of the Fleet from Queenstown, and the greatest interest is being manifested in her voyage. Despite her great age—she is now 123 years old —she seems as sound and staunch as when built, but the rigors of the Atlantic gales may tell a different story.
