THE ROOT OF ALL TROUBLE.
OUR MISUNDERSTANDING WITH GERMANY“ENGLAND IS ENVIOUS OF US.” [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT] (Received June 28, 12-5 a.m.) BERLIN, June J 7. Replies of prominent Germans to English statements recently published in the journal “Nortimdsud” generally attribute the root of the trouble to English envy of Germany’s prosperity and Germany’s growing competition. The manager of the Deutsche Bank attributes the misunderstanding to a small group of Chauvinists in both countries whose clamor drowns the voice of the responsible majority. H err Bnssermann denies that Germany is aiming at equality with Britain and says she does not desire to encroach on Britain’s supremacy at sea.
