RUN OVER BY TRUCKS. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, May 7. The trucks on a bush tramway at Manunui collided with' a. tree on the line, and were piled up, a man named Kirton being frightfully injured, sustaining a fractured thigh, a crushed hand, and cuts on the head. He was removed to the Tamarunui hospital. THE COAL CREEK FATALITYDUNEDIN, May 7. Simon Weatlierall, who was seriously injured in Craig’s coal mine at Coal Creek, beyond Roxburgh, on Friday, died in the hospital to-night. Death was due to dislocation of the spine. THROWN FROM A HORSE. An inquest was held at Te Ivaraka on Monday concerning the death of James Graham, who was found in an unconscious state on the Cliff Road on Saturday.. The evidence showed that deceased had fallen from Ms horse and had received fatal injuries,, and a. verdict of accidental death was recorded. SUDDEN DEATH. Mr W. E. Akroyd, J.P., held an inquest at Muriwai on Monday in connection with the death of Thomas Farrell, who died suddenly on Sunday. Deceased was carrying a bucket of water when he collapsed, a'hd died about, half an hour later. Dr. Collins said that he had held a post-mortem examination on the body of deceased. The direct cause of death was rupture of the splenic artery, due to the advanced disease of the spleen. The heart was also diseased. Deceased was a man who had during his life taken alcohol freely, and had been a heavy smoker. Death was more due to his condition than to the fall.
