'GOVERNMENT METEOROLOGIST’S REPORT. [PEa PRESS ASSOCIATION.fi WELLINGTON, Jan. 29. The barometer has risen in the South, and southerly winds have prevailed. 'Cloudy and misty weather is reported this afternoon in many parts, in the North Island especially, and there are indications for the development of a cyclonic disturbance to the north-east-ward of the Dominion. Present indications are somewhat threatening in the northern and eastern end of the North Island, but not ■definite enough for a storm forecast. Strong south-easterly winds are probable northward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, with unsettled and cloudy weather, with storms on the East ’Coast. Southerly breezes and changeable conditions are probable elsewhere. The barometer is likely to fall about East Cape, but is due to rise high in the South.
