At the rifle shooting meeting there was a variable wind, and shooting was difficult. Loveday beat- Shaw in tlie shoot—off in the Referee: match by 13 to 11.
The following New Zealanders 1 won prizes:— Tire Jaques match: Messrs Needham, Hunt., Roots, Cocks, Henderson., and James, £1 each. The Dudley match: Messrs Loveday, Roots, and Perston; £1 each. The Newmarcli match: Messrs Marshall, Oiling, Given-, Gower, and Loveday, ’ £2 each.
