ECHO OF KINGSLAND MYSTERY.
A CABMAN ARRESTED. [PEE PEESS ASSOCIATION.! AUCKLAND, Oct. 2. A cabman named John Brooks was to-day arrested on a charge of attempting to defeat the course of justice by endeavoring to persuade a woman named Minnie Whittingham to give false evidence at the trial of Mrs O’Shaughnessy in the Kingsland case. Mrs Whittingham was one of the witnesses summoned on behalf of the prosecution. It is likely that another similar, dharge will be laid against Broooks.
