Apparently the Hawera Borougn Councillors are harder to please than the ‘‘City Fathers’’ of Gisborne. They are complaining of the inordinate length of Borough Council meetings. They occasionally last until after midnight, and the sittings of late are stated to have become so wearisome that some of the Councillors threaten to resign unless . the time occupied by the meetings is • materially*' abbreviated. What would they have said if they had been kept till 3 a.m., as happened mo.o than once in the case of the Gisborne Council last year ? <
