POWER OF BEAUTY’S EYES.
MAXINE ELLIOTT AS SUFFRAGETTE. WINS OVER LLOYD-GEORGE AND CHURCHILL. Maxine Elliott, the American beauty actress, who toured Australia with Nat Goodwin i 6 reported to have converter to the cause of woman suffrage David Llovd-George and Winston Churchill, both Cabinet Ministers. This great service to the cause has failed of success by English women, who have stormed the Prime Minister’s house and turned the corridors of the Houses of Parliament into brßfctlefields. The American actress met these important men in power at a supper given by Sir Herbert Tree, and by the clarity of her arguments and lier charm of manner she induced both to look favorably on any bill presented for the advancement of the suffrage workers. Miss Elliott’s country place at Bushel, formerly the home of Lord Baltimore, is the scene of many interesting house parties, and her attendance at dances and dinners lifts her to a social position never equalled by that of any American actress of the past.
