The committee of the Canterbury Cricket - Association to-night discussed the an;angements made locally for parades for military training, tlie defence authorities having fixed certain alternate Saturdays in October, November and December. It was pointed out that unless altered this would mean a death-blow to cricket., as youths would not join _ clubs when they know that their military duties would not permit them to enter for competitions. It was suggested that the parades should he held on consecutive Saturdays. and should be spread over a year, and not confined practically to the summer months. A deputation was appointed to. wait on. the officer commanding the district to place the Association’s views before hin.
