Mr E. J. Watt, of Hawke’s Bay, left Wellington on Friday afternoon by the Manuka for Sydney, taking with him bjs racehorse Wimmera, which is en?god in forthcoming Australian races, jp Mr. G. H Thompson, Mayor of Tauma.ru.nui, has sent in his resignation, in consequence of the attitude of opposition which, lie declares certain councillors have taken up in regard to the policy he is pursuing.
