EXTRAORDINARY ACCIDENT.

RAILWAY PASSENGER INJURED

An accident of a peculiar nature occurred at the Millthorpe (N.S.W.) railway station the other day. It appears that on the arrival there of the midday train'Ufrom the west, the driver, for shunting purposes, had to bump the standing train. The concussion that followed caused a passenger, named Walter Taylor, a supposed resident of .Mudgee, who was in the act of looking out of a window, to have his head struck on the window sash with some violence, and also severely cutting one of his cheeks. The force was so great as to render him unconscious, in which state he remained for about three hours. The local railway officials rendered first .aid and were successful in bringing him 'round for a short period. His condition. ’at times was so bad as to necessitate strapping down. Owing to medical aid not being-procurable at the time locally, he was conveyed to Blayney Hospital.
