Estall (Woolston) was first with (it points; Cudbv (Taranaki) second, 63; Hughes (Nelson), third, 62, There is lino weather for tho marching competition. Tho military marching competition to-day in tho Recreation Sports Ground attracted an attend nice of upwards of 7000, who lined the terraces, presenting a very pretty sight. The march, “Nibba,”' was capitally rendered bv most of the eleven comX v , petitors, with the following result: ' Taranaki Garrison Military, points 180$, music 96, total 276,\;" Masterton, 179$ and 93, total 2721; Woolston, 175 and 96, total 261 ; Palmerston North, 177-i and 92, total 2695; Nelson Garrison, 172$ and 95, total 2675; Auckland First .Battalion, 171 and 95, total 266; Morningtou, 171$ and 88, total 2593: Hastings, 166,\ and 89, total 255$ : Marton, i7os am! 81, total 2515; Manaia, 156 and 80, total 236; Auckland Mounted Rifles, . 15S and 82, total 230. The first test selection was played on _ the Recreation Sports Ground, which was lighted by electric arc lights, last night, and concluded at nearly midnight. In A Grade, Mornington, 146, was first; Auckland Ist Battalidn, 144, second : Nelson Garrison, 144; Woolstoh, 135; Taranaki. 134; Hastings. 132; Masterton, 132. 11 Grade: Palmerston, 132, Ist; Marton, 129, 2nd: Auckland Mounted Rifles, 127; Manaia, 123. The trombone/trio resulted: Wanganui. 74 points. Ist; Auckland Ist Battalion, 73 points, 2nd; Wooiston, 71; Morningtou, 70; Taranaki, 69; Masterton, 66.
