Yesterday Mr. Emerson, injured in a jumping competition at the recent Show, was so far recovered as to be about, and it is expected that in a few days he will be thoroughly recovered. SELF-DENIAL FUND. WELLINGTON, Oot. 28. The results of the Salvation Army’s self-denial week showtliat £lO,830 was collected throughout the Dominion, as compared with? £10,388 last year. The North Island contributed £5729 and the South Island £5094.
