WELLINGTON, Sept, 29. ‘‘Some idea of the rapid progress and the magnitude of the motor industry,” says the committee of the Wellington .Automobile Club in its annual report, “may ho gathered from the fact that it is estimated that at present over £IOO.OOO a year is being paid directly and indirectly to workers in this colony in connection with motoring, and now that some of the duty has been remitted it is estimated that the increase in motor cars will he so great that over one million sterling annually will be paid in. wages in N.Z. alono within the next- few years, while only ten years ago there, was probably not a single person in N.Z. earning a livelihood from tlie motor industry.”
