POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meoting of tho Poverty Bay Crickot Association was held last evening in the British Empire'-Hotel, chore being - a large number of cric-keters-present. Mr AV. F. Cederwall occupied -tho chair. Tho balance-sheet and report woro read and’adopted. "Mr. Cary' proposed that the question of carotakor bo left to the incoming committee.—Agreed to. Mr. AV; .Gibson proposed that tho rules be drawn up at tho meeting. Mr. McColl secondod. As an amendment Mr. Clayton rnovod that the rules be referred to tho incoming committee. ■< The amendment was carried.
It was resolved, on tho motion of Mr. Maude, secondod by Mr. McColl, that the Association uffilfato with the New Zealand Cricket Council. Tho following officers were elected; President, Mr. A\ r . F. Cederwall; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Dewing, C. AVhite, A. AV. Roes, Judgo Jones, AV. L. Clayton, D. J. ferry, A. F. Kennedy, G. B. Oman, 'AVin. Miller, C. R. .Neale, H. D. Buohanan. E. Murphy, J. AV. Nolan, Chas. Evans, Colonel Winter, J. A. Lucas, Captain Ferris ,and Drs. Scott and AVilliams ; lion, secretary, Mr. H. E. Hill; treasurer, Mr; H. E. Maude; managing committee, Messrs Cary and Dr. Collins (To Rau), Maude and Laurenson (AA’anderers)), Hallamoro and Gibson (United), Lang and Emanuel (Union), and Tliolwall (Motu) ; auditor, Mr H. E. Dodd.
It was decided, on the motion of Mr Clayton, that tho Association be registered under tho Unclassified Societies Act.
AVitli regard to water connection, it was decided that tho necessary steps be taken to havo water laid on to the ground, and that tlio Rugby Union be approached to bear a portion of the expenses. Mr Laurenson moved, and Mr Lang seconded, that Messrs Hallamore, Gibson, and Pasley be appointed a sub-committee to wait upon the Rugby Union with a view of arranging the terms of tho lease of AUctoria Domain.—Carried _ Mr Clayton intimated at tho meeting his intention of presenting a bat for competition among players during the season, to bo presented as tho managing committee may think fit. He also promised the usual donation. The question of a shilling ground fee was left for discussion at a general meeting to be held at the British Empire Hotel next Friday evening.
