Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. When the Legislative Council met yesterday afternoon Mr. Rigg asked the Attorney-General who was responsible for the following standing advertisement appearing ill “Roynolds’ Newspaper,” and especially misleading in reference to land grants contained therein as regards New Zealand :—Assisted passages to Australia —£s to Queensland, £6 to New South Wales, £6 to West Australia, £lO to New Zealand. Free land grants. Apply at once for application forms and frill particulars to the' nearest Cook’s office.. Thos. Cook and Sons, chief office, Ludgate Circus,- London, E.C.” The Attorney-General said it must have been inserted by private poisons. The Government knew nothing about the matter.
