Owing to three Wei 1 known breedors having given up showing for the time being entries were not so numerous and the quality not so good generally as heretofore.- North Island championship wore allotted as follows: Game, black-red cock, N. Oldliam, of Marton; Buff-loghom, pullet, S. G. AHicklang. of Mangahai; Plain-head-ed Norwich canary, S. Brooks, New Plymouth, with It. L. Bcthune, \V ellington, reserve champion. The amount suubscribed to date for memorial on MaTsland Hill to soldiors who foil in the Taranaki M aori war is £2o0„
