The epidemic of “indisposition” reported from Sydney in connection with the Musgrove Grand Opera to. lias appeared in Auckland. When the company arrived they cut out the first matinee which was to have taken place this afternoon, and a number of country people who had turned up were disappointed, no announcement of tlio fact having been advertised. “Carmen” was performed alright last night, and “Tuiinhauscr” was to have came to-night.. When the audience arrived they found, huge placards posted about the theatre stating that owing to tlio indisposition of Herr Ludorinann _ the piece could not be played, and it lias now been postponed till next week. “Faust” was put on instead, but instead of starting at- the advertised time. 7.30, it did not begin till 8. and at 11 o’clock the second to last act was only opening. A number of people left the theatre before the close. The trams are blocking Queen street. They have been waitiijg since 11, the ordinary time for leaving of the last trams. It will eos'f the Tramway Company a good sum for overtime. It was announced that “Lohengrin” would be played to morrow, but that has gone by the board and “Carmen” is to have e second performance. Much indigna tion is expressed.
