COMPLIMENTARY CONCERT,

The complimentary concert tenderer! to Mr. Liclitwark attracted a model ate . audience to the Theatre last evening. It mav be said at the outset that .the .size of the "house” war in no w!iy T commensurate with the excellence of the programme, which was really a most enjoyable musical treat. An event of interest was the Robot of Master-A. Ivinnesmltlr, a 12vear old pupil of Mr. Liehtwark’s, who displayed remarkable gilts as a violinist. The vocal items wore also much appreciated, Mrs. Barry in particular being well received and gaining do munstrative encores for her excellent solor„ Miss Law sang “'The Island of Dreams” pleasantly, meeting with a similar compliment-. The duet “Excelsior” was rendered by Messrs. Hlooro and ’Wilkinson. In the second part M.r. Bloore asssayed “Ave Maria” (with violin obligato) 'successfully, and Mr. ’Wilkinson was accorded encore for Jiis accceptablc solo. “The Miner,” responding with “The Dcatlilcsss Army.” Orchestral itemr pleasantly interspersed tlie programme, a string quartette bv Messrs. Adair, A 7 on Lubbe, and Liclitwark an I Master Rhiuesmith being worthy of special note.
