United Press Association—Copyright PRETORIA, - June 22. In the Assembly Mr. Smuts, speaking to a want of confidence motion tabled by Sir Geo. Farrar, said the 'Chinese cause was as dead as the dodo. The Chinese must go. The Government intended to stand by the mines, and assist them to overcome their difficulties. _ Sir George Farrar, replying, said if the motion was lost then farewell to progress and expension. It would bury the country’s financial reputaton,and impair its credit. The ■„ motion was defealted lby 42 to 21.
