SHOCKING FATALITIES
YOUNG WOMAN KILLED BY TRAIN
CHILD FATALLY BURNED.
(Per Press Association.) Christohurch, last night. A young woman named Eva Maud Eason attempted to board tbo 4 p.m. train from Christoboroh to Lyt6elton yesterday while it was in rnolioD, but foil | between the station platform and the train. She was dragged along for some distanoe, sustaining oonoussion of tbe brain and severe bruises, and died shortly after admission to tbe hospital. At the inquest held this afternoon a verdiot of aooidental death was returned.
A two-year-old child named May Lettie Fleming, whose parents live at Methven, died, on Friday from burns aooidentally received that morniog while its mother was away from the honse.
