FRASERTOWN.

A committee meeting of the Wairoa County Dog Trial Club was held at the Frasertown Hotel on Saturday, 81st inst,, Mr J. Davey in tho chair. Mr A. E. Beckett was appointed secretary, vice Mr J. Dove resigned, Mr W. A. Neale was elected president, and Mr J. Davey vice-president. The following gentlemen were appointed a general committee, viz.: A. Balfour, D. E. O’Neill, J. Davey, F. Steed, H. J. Kent, A. Sinclair, E. Neale, B. Lambert, S. Lambert, B. Mays, J. H. Brown, J. Byrne, J. Duff, R. E. Jefferson, C. Goldstone, and S. Twigg. Members’ subscriptions was fixed at os. The following canvassers were appointed : Waikaremoana, Messrs Balfour and Heaslop ; Nuhaka, F. Vaughan ; Wairoa, Messrs D. E. O’Neill and A. Sinclair; Marumaru, H. J. Kent; Mohaka, Messrs Hodges and Dampney. The dates for the trial were fixed for Tuesday and Wednesday, Ist and 2nd May. The following gentlemen were appointed a ground committee, three to form a quorum : Messrs Sinclair, Munro, Patterson, Davey,. Steed, Kent, Wilson, Neale, and Balfour. It was decided that the programme, rules, and regulations should be the same as last year. The prizes in each class were slightly in creased. Messrs N. C. Munro, A. Sinclair, and J. Davey were appointed a committee to obtain a suitable ground and sheep for the trials. The selection of a judge was left in the hands of the ground committee and secretary. As Messrs E. Cox, H. Davis, and J. Hague were driving to Wairoa, the horse bolted while descending the Hikawai hill, and the occupants of the trap were thrown out. Mr J. Hague had the misfortune to break his left leg just above the knee. The others escaped with bruises and a shaking.
