The barqueDtine Biver Hunter arrived from Newcastle yesterday morning. Captain Campbell reported that the vessel experienced S E. winds until off the Three Kings oa the 21et ult., when a northerly gale sprung up. A good run was made to the Cape, but a strong southerly on the 25th delayed the vessel. On the 27th the barquentine was off the Bay, but was blown about 150 miles off the Coast by a heavy southerly gale. The vessel was berthed at the wharf at a quarter past two, drawing 10ft. 9in. The oargo oonsiatß of 360 tons of coal and 75,000 ft. of ironbark limber. The Union Company’s s.s. Bosamond arrived from Greymoutb last night, with a oargo of ooal. The auxiliary schooner Aotea arrived from Auckland and Coast bays at noon yesterday. The cargo consists of 60 tons of general cargo, and a large quantity of timber. j The Union Co.’s s.s. Wanaka loads at Bluff, Monday, April 9th ; Oamaru, Tuesday ; Timaru, Wednesday, and is due here about Saturday, 14th inst. The scow Welcome has been detained owing to the illness of Captain Cliffo. The Huddart, Parker Co.’s s.s. Yiotoria arrives from Southern ports on Saturday morning and sails for Auokland and Sydney at 10 a.m. The Union Co.’s s.s.
