PARLIAMENTARY.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL'. Per Press Association, WELLINGTON, last night.
The Council met at 2.30. Several local Bills were advanced a stage. The Arbitration Court Emergency Bill and Supreme Court Judges Bill passed all stages.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, The House met at 2.30.
The afternoon was occupied by Ministers in replying to questions. Mr Seddon stated that labor farms near large centres of population did not pay, and it was better to take this class of labor away from tho towns altogether. The Lands Department had placed a block of 7000 acres of light bush land in the hands of tbe Labor Department to absorb this class of labor. Mr Seddon statod that Government were making inquiries as to the necessity for tho introduction of a Pure Food Bill.
