Lynch’s counsel raised an intricate technical interpretation of the British Naturalisation Act of RGti, contending that it protected him from any criminality involved in the acts charged against him. The Times, commenting on Count, Von Bulow’s speech in the Reichstag, says Great Britain’s dislike of co-op-erating with Germany is very strong, and there will be general relief when the Venezuelan trouble is ended. The Times adds : “ Great Britain is determined not to he dragged at the tail of any nation. It must adopt the German policy of looking first after its own great paramount Imperial interests. ST. The secretary of the Shipwreck Relief Society has forwarded the secretary of the Elingamite Relief Fund, at Auckland, particulars of the Victorian claims. Five claimants are recommended for assistance. SYDNEY, Jan. 23.
