DR. MORRISON INTERVIEWED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. BRISBANE, January 20. ...Dr Morrison, interviewed in reference to the Boxer movement, said there was a large army, which was uncontrollable, in Canton ielta. The Germans had control of that position, and were selling arms to Chinese. It was not true that Japanese were going on reorganising the Chinese army. The other Powers would not permit it. Very few Japanese ollieer.s were employed. A properly-organised Chinese army would he a formidable enemy. Russia gave up the Palaces of Mukden in order to gain a better position for the military railway. which was carrying as many troojvs as possible. There was a great, difference of opinion in regard to the tariff treaty. The feeling was gradually growing that the Chinese would not fulfil the obligation. Missionary matters in China were more hopeful titan for years. Missionary ladies were returning to ’.lie interior.
