BOWLING TOURNAMENT.

PALMERSTON NORTH WINS THE FINAL.

[ur teleoiupit.— muss association.] Palmerston North, last night. The bowling tournament was continued to day in dull weather, with one or two very light showers. All interest in the two final games centred in the matches which Newmarket and Palmerston were engaged in ; both teams were loading in their sections, the former having one more win to its credit than the latter. Contrary to expectation, Newmarket went down to New Plymouth by a bare point, but in the last round defeated the Victoria Club, Wellington, with fifteen points to spare. Palmerston won both its games, defeating Wanganui and Dannevirko each by the narrow margin of three. This brought both teams equal in wins. The final was one of tho most exciting contests of the tournament. Up to about half-way through the gnmo it was a ding dong go for a while, and the excitement was intcuse. Once Palmerston obtained tho lead they were not seriouslytroubled, winning by 27 to 15. The results were :
