ALLEGED MURDER.
(By Tolograph—Press Association.) Mangaweka, last night. Two Justices hoard a charge of murder referred against Micbal Maher, of Utika. The ovidoDec of tho doctors was to the effect that tho death of Colo was duo to peritonitis, caused by an injury to tho Btomach. Othor ovideneo showed that Mnhor was drinking in a public bar with deceased, and caught tho latter two or three times, throwing him to tho tloor. Colo did not attempt to defend himself, but said to accused, "That will do.” Shortly afterwards, decoased went homo, and complained of pains in the abdomen, and was seen by passers-by rolling and groaning in tho garden. Accusod reserved his defence, and was committed to trial at Wanganui, bail being allowed in two sureties of j£2CO, and himself in j£ooo, which was immediately forthcoming.
