FRENCH CRUELTY

Paris, Oct. 1. French troops destroyed seventeen towns and plantations in the Goumo district, French Congo, as a punishment for tho natives disregarding an order to sell all their produce to concessionaries holding land. Sixteen natives woro killed, and the remainder withdrew to tho bush.
