AVONDALE AUTUMN MEETING,

Auckland, last night. The Avondale Jockoy Club’s Autumn Meeting was commenced to-day. The weather was perfect, and the attendance good. The sum. of £6,881 was put through the totalisator. Tho following are the results. , Maiden Plato: Warwick (Buchanan) 1, -Amegu 2, Hillflower 8. Also started: Ely Miss. Hector, Itosiphele, Valedictory, Mara. Warwick dashed through at the home turn, and lasted long enough to win by a neck. Time 1.18 3-5, dive. £7 18s and £5 Bs. Hurdle Race: Tim (Howard) 1, Bufus 2, Mars 3. Also started: Bellman, Voltigeur, Pokomoko, Arna, Papaiu. Tim made practically all the running, and won by a head from Bufus, after an exciting race. Time 8.53, divs. £1 16s 6d and £2 10s 6d. Avondale Handicap, miles : Highlander (Speakman) 1, Beddington 2, Val Eosa 8. Also started : Bluejacket, Volee, Military, Wilson, Defender, Sundial, Matamataharakeke, and Taplow. High-

lander was responsible for the greater part of the running, and won by better than a length from Beddingtou, who finished fast. Time 2.12 2-5, divs. .£3 9s and £1 13s 6d. Juvenile Handicap, 5 furlongs : Austerlitz (Abbott) 1, Mary Seaton 2, Spalpeen 3. Also started : Lavadel, Muskerdalo, Swagstnan, Bastion. Austerliti! catne away at the turn, and won by a length and a half. Time 1.5 3-5, divs. £2 3s and £1 15s 6d. First Pony Handicap.—Orange and Blue (Taylor) 1, Girton Girl 2, Blue Paul 3. Also started : Stepaway, St. Loanda, Vulpino, Seaspray, Annoyed, Polly Perkins, Troop. Orange and Blue took command two furlongs from home, and, holding the opposition safe, won by better than two lengths. Time 1.19 ; divs., £2 6s and £1 Bs. First Hack Handicap.-Drudge (Taylor) 1, Gatelock 2, Minna 3. Also started : Bobs. Drudge went to the front when a couple of furlongs had been covered, and, stalling off Gatelock in the straight, won by two lengths. Time 1.19 3-5 ; div. £2 17a 6d. ..... '

Auction Stakes, 5 furlongs: Klondyko | , "(Ryan) 1, Maroon and Gold 2, Leo Delaval 8. Also started: Lady Dash, Lady Soult, Sly Miss, La Polish, Nereid, Warwick, Ambition, and Drudge. Klondyke had the best of it when a couple of furlongs had been covered, and lasted long enough to win by a length from Maroon and Gold, who was just in front of Leo Delaval. Time 1.6 J-; divs. £5 18s 6d and £2 13b.

Bailway Handicap : Goetzer (Percival) 1, Geologist 2, St. Olga 3. Also started : Reclaimer, Landlock, Sundial, Despatch, Firefly, and Bosiphelc. St. Olga made all the running, and looked to have the race at her mercy as they drew into the straight, but as the lawn rails were reached Goetzer put in a strong claim, and defeated Geologist in the last bit by balf-a-length. Time 1.30 3-5, divß. £l6 8s 5d and £1 9s 6d.
