REGISTRATIONS OF BIRTHS IN GISBORNE INCREASE
The number of birth registrations in Gisborne last month showed a slight increase on the total in September of last year. The number of deaths decreased by four, and marriage licences increased by nine. The figures, released by the registrar. Mr. A. S. Louisson, with those for the corresponding month of last year in parenthesis, are: Births, 60 (54); deaths, 16 (20); marriages, 26, including seven by the registrar (17, including two by the registrar). The aggregate figures up to September 30 show slight decreases. They are as follows, these for the corresponding period of last year being given in parenthesis: Births, 481 (483); deaths, 162 (180); marriages, 156, including 28 by the registrar (182, including 33 by the registrar).
