FEWER MARRIAGES IN GISBORNE
Increases in the number of births and deaths and a decline in marriages are recorded in last month’s vital statistics for Gisborne. • Births increased bv two, deaths by eight, while the number of marriages dropped by 11. The figures supplied bv the registrar, Mr. A. S. Louisson with those for July, 1949, in parenthesis are:
Births. 60 (58); deaths, 27 (19); marriages, nine, including five bv the registrar. (20, including five by the registrar). The totals for the seven months of the year show a decrease of ona in the number of birth registrations, a decrease of 13 in the number of deaths, and a drop of 38 in marriages. Following are the totals: Births, 360 (301); deaths, 120 (133); marriages, 113, including 19 bv the registrar, (151, including 28 by the registrar).
