Record Power Output And Consumption For Week In North Island
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. July 24. A new power-generation record of 43,(378.7 00 units was set in Ihe North Island last week, said the general manager of the State Hydro-electric Department, Mr. A. E Davenport, today. The peak loading demand of 435.100 kilowatts was also a record. “These figures indicate that the consumption was substantially above the allocation.” he said. There has been little rain in the catchment areas and the lake levels, both at Taupo and Waikaremoana, have fallen slightly.
