At Kaiti Hill burning off of rubbish •. is being continued as weather penruts. I At Kaiti nursery the ground is being prepared for next season s planting, and all drains cleared. _ Subsoil drains were installed on tne Kaiti Esplanade below the area that subsided recently, and filling placed over the top. , . At Stafford Street subsoil drains were installed and a large quantity of, broken concrete and clinker used to allow subsoil water to escape. The | road fill is being built up with sand, > and will be covered with papa and rubble. . i In Palmerston Road formation of a footpath and of an entrance to the parking area at, the Town Hall Reserve , is being undertaken. , I Bitumen and rubble patching was carried out, and gravelling of streets will be continued as soon as the access road to the gravel dump is passable.
