Feverish activity bv men and machines throughout last week along the route to Wai-o-Matatini was the subject of comment bv many Coast motorists. The work carried out ensured that distinguished visitors motoring over the route on Friday enjoyed the onedav wonder of a road surface of almost billiard-table smoothness. Reporting to the recent meeting of the Wainnu Hospital Board. Miss G. E. Elliott,, matron of Te Puia Hospital, said that Messrs. Kin.gi and Tamati, of Ruatorin. who were recent patients at the hospital, had donated £lO to the nurses’ social fund The matron also advised that the fund had benefited from a further donation of £3 from the Coast Drivers Association.
