Heni Materoa Building Fund Now Totals £5387
Steady progress has been made with the appeal for funds for the construction of a new Heni Materoa Children’s Home. The target was originally fixed at £IO,OOO, but it is expected that the figure will be considerably higher because of the increased costs since that estimate was made. The committee is awaiting the naw estimate. The list previously acknowledged included donations amounting to £256 13s, but added to that is the sum of £5047 16s 4d in the building fund prior to June 30. 1950. Further to that there will be the proceeds from the sale of the existing buildings and the property in Awapuni Road. The fund at present stands as follows:
