The Pirates and High School men's Senior A teams played a scoreless draw. High School maintained a slight advantage in the first spell and though they attacked time and again the defence was equal to the test. McKay, in goal for Pirates, was responsible for some excellent saves against the outstanding school forwards, Hambl.v. Underdown. Roderick and Arnott." After the change-over Pirates, who were now more steady, took the offensive and gave the High School defence a torrid time.

Caledonia (A) and H. 5.0.8. (A) turned on a bright and clever game. The game was played at a fast pace by two evenly matched teams. The winners’ goal which was scored by T. Turbitt, was the result of a combined forward rush in which every member of the team handled. Turbitt finished off with a nice reverse stroke into the corner of the net. Coker for H. 5.0.8. was right on his game and made many good saves, while Shields and Lynskey were always safe in the full-back positions. R. Lowe and Warren played well for Caledonia, who enjoyed an advantage in the second spell. , Waituhi (A) had a field day against the Tamanuhiri Maori team and easily won by 11 goals to nil. Tamanuhiri, who had only nine men. were early on the attack and missed a chance to score. From this stage on, Waituhi assumed control and scored five goals in the first spell. At the interval, the Waituhi backs changed places with the forwards and were able to score another six goals before the final whistle sounded. The scorers were: T. Smiler five. D. Caledonia (B) and Waituhi (B) turned on a great game for a draw. With both teams playing well and showing good combination, the result was a fair indication of play. The scorers for Waituhi were P. Hinenui were superior in the early stages and rattled on two quick goals through good work by H. Kaimoana and T. Carrington. Waituhi exerted themselves and penned Hinenui in their circle. The half-time score was three-one. After the interval Waituhi had a deeded advantage and scored a second goal. .. Kia Toa and Waikanae provided a fine game, Kia Toa winning three-two. Waikanae played well and seemed certain to make the game a. draw, but the deciding goal was scored by Kia Toa in the last two minutes. Hickman and McKenzie were always prominent for Kia Toa and were unlucky not to score more goals. Waikanae also had their share of misfortunte and missed several chances. Scorers for Kia Toa were Hickman (2), Carson one. and for Waikanae. M. Nepia and P. McKay one each.

Y.M.P. (A) defeated Turanganui by seven goals to nil. Play for the most part was confined to the Turanganui circle and had the Y.M.P. forwards been on their game the score would have been larger. Y.M.P. had a monopoly of the ball, but due to the good defensive work of Mrs. Edwards, in the goal for Mahaki. Y.M.P. were unable to score until just on halftime when N. Aranui shot a good goal. Y.M.P. scored another three goals in the second spell. Scorers for Y.M.P. were R. Aranui three, C. Ria and P. Hipa one each.
