MISS KIRKWOOD. Messrs. Woodward. Thom, Hobbs and Dr. Lee. inspectors of the Education Department, visited the Gisborne High School this week. MR J. H. S. SCHRODER, assistant Director of Broadcasting, and Mr. G. 11. Stringer, assistant secretary of the Broadcasting department, paid a business visit to Gisborne yesterday.

MR. L T. BURNARD presided at yesterdays meeting of the Gisborne High School Board of Governors. Also present. were Messrs. E. J. Poswillo, G W Armstrong. F \V. Nolan and D. B Dallas.

MR. W. J JENNINGS, inspecting officer of New Zealand National Airways Corporation, Wellington, and formerly of Gisborne, visited Gpborne yesterday on airways business. He left on his return to Wellington this morning

THE REV. J. S'. MURRAY, overseas secretary of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, is tc visit Gisborne next week. Me recently visited the Presbyterian mission fields in China and India, and was in the Canton area only a few days prior to the Communist army’s entry into the city. On his way back to New Zealand Air. Murray attended an East Asian missionary conference at Bangkok, in Siam, and was able to form a close appreciation o( the political and social aspects of the recent upheaval in that part of the world.
