Dutch Priest Stabbed To Death In Java
JACARTA, May 5.
The first Dutchman to be assassinated in the Jacarta area since the Indonesian independence died in hospital here today a few hours after he was attacked and robbed near “Palm Beach, a seaside resort. He was a Franciscan priest, Father Mulder ,aged 42. Dutch soldiers found the priest lying on the road with knife wounds in many parts of the face. He was robbed of all personal belongings. , , . The priest died before he was able to give any clue to his attackers’ identity. The stabbing took place one week after the shooting in cold blood of an American professor and journalist at Tomo, 100 miles cast of Jacarta.
