HUGE LABOUR LOSS IN U.S. STRIKES
(11 a.m.) WASHINGTON. April 2. Strikes cost the nation 50,500,000 mandays in 1949, 48 per cent, more than 1948 and the second highest in history, the Bureau of Labour Statistics reported yesterday. The record year wa5,1946 when 116,000,000 man-days were lost.
