MR. F. R. BALL, chairman of the P.B. Electric-Power Board, presided at the board’s monthly meeting yesterday. Other members present were Messrs. T. Utting, R. L. Gray, R. E. Searle, .1. E. Benson, F. Tolerton, J. H. I-lall, D. W. W. Williams, A. B. C. Steele, B. J, Holdsvvorth and A. A. Fraser. MR. F. R. BALL, chairman, and Mr A. A. Fraser, deputy chairman, were yesterday appointed to represent Hie P.B. Electric-Power Board at the annual conference of (he Power Boards’ Association in Christchurch in September.
MR. W. J. POLSON, who lias been nominated as the future Leader of the Legislative Council, will be sworn in as a member of the council and as a member of the Executive Council by the Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, at Government House next Tuesday afternoon. Mr. E. R. Neale. M.P., for Nelson, will' lie sworn in on Tuesday morning by the Clerk of the Executive Council as Under-Secretary to the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr. C. M. Bowden.
