Eighty persons, most of them Welsh Rugby supporters returning from the Ireland versus Wales international match at Belfast, were killed on March 12 in the worst air disaster in the history of aviation. The plane, a Tudor V. overshot the runway at Llandow, stalled and plunged into the ground, disintegrating immediately. The top illustration shows the Rugby supporters as they boarded the plane at Cardiff on the flight to Dublin. The aerial view shows the wreckage. (A.P. Photo)
