Racing Permits Allocated
The two permits which became vacant when the Nelson Jockey Club decided not to race next month have been allocated to the Westport Jockey Club, which will utilise them on April 29 and May 1. Close Confinement
Te Waka Tamohana, aged 25, was sentenced to 10 days’ close confinement by Mr. M. C. Astley, S.M., in the Auckland Police Court yesterday on a charge of using personal violence to a probation warder, Mr. W. Elliott, in Auckland Prison on March 15 by striking him with his clenched fists.—P.A.
