The Tolaga Bay Defence Rifle club's fortnightly snoot took place last weekend over the 500 and 600 yd. ranges. The presence ot some of the members of the Gisborne club including the 1950 King’s Prize winner. F. J. Jeune, added interest to the day's outing. The six top scores off the rifle were secured by the following:—F. J. Jeune (Gisborne). 500yds. 47. 600yds. 49. total 96; j Loueher, 48, 47. 95; H. Rowley (Gisborne) 45. 47. 92; C. Lloyd. 48. 42, 90. F Herbert. 46. 43, 89; B. Elliot, (Gisborne) 46 43 89.

Ip the local competition C. Lloyd and J Loueher tied at the 500vds. range with 48 each and in the countback were placed in that order At 600.yds J. Lougher secured first place with 47 N. Seymour being second with 44. With handicaps added. J. Lougher and M. McKinley reached the standard score of 96. and in the count-back Lougher was placed first in the day's competition.
